We’ve been talking a lot about how our success lies not only in our expertise but also in the level of trust we cultivate within our tribes.

Many of our business activities serve to build this trust.  A beautiful website establishes our professional credibility as does offering high-quality services and sharing success stories of our customers.  The list could go on and on.

But you might be overlooking a very important strategy.

Sharing information—and not just information in your specific field—is an easy way to strengthen the trust that clients, colleagues and prospects have in you.

It’s actually a very easy and quick process, especially when you approach it in a systematic way.

My #1 recommendation is to use a RSS Reader to streamline your process of finding and sharing valuable information.

RSS Reader’s enable you to easily trace, gather, and organize your online feeds—in one place!

SAVE TIME, BUILD TRUST &  BOOST SALES WITH YOUR RSS READER

1.  You don’t have to spend time visiting a ton of websites.  Instead, you can use your RSS Reader to deliver updates from websites that feature relevant information to your business and that of your colleagues, clients, and prospects.

Keeping in touch and following up with people are absolutely essential when it comes to building the kind of trust that gets people to say “yes” to your services.

RSS Readers are extremely useful when you wish to get back in touch with someone or follow up with them.  Your reader will make it super easy for you to share a story that you think they’ll enjoy—professionally or personally.

2.  You’ll become the go-to-person in your field by using an RSS Reader to find the latest advances within your industry and then sharing this information with your tribe.

Sharing interesting, insightful information demonstrates that you’re informed and generous.  People begin recognizing you as an expert who has her finger on the pulse of her industry, and this, in turn, builds trust and increases the chances of them choosing you over everyone else when the time comes to select a service provider.

Doing it with help of an RSS Reader will save a lot of time because you’ll no longer need to aimlessly browse the web searching for something interesting to share with the members of your audience.

3.    An RSS Reader creates your very own media hub, which enables you (with just a click of a button) to tweet, share and comment on posts.

Starting and participating in attention-grabbing discussions are crucial to building up your “know, like, and trust” factor.

Using an RSS Reader as your media hub reduces your feeling of overwhelm and makes processing and sharing information manageable because you’ll be able to schedule time for it and do it consistently.

Remember, you are building relationships of trust that will grow and, hopefully, last a lifetime.  When the time is right, potential clients will become current clients.

All you need to do is to provide value upon value until they believe that your services are right for them.

CHECK OUT THESE RSS READERS

Google Reader is shutting down on July 1st, so I want to introduce you to some other great options.

There are many free RSS Readers out there and most of them allow you to customize by category the feeds that you want to receive.

Here’s a comparative table to help you find the one that’s best for you.

Tip:  Figure out if you need your RSS Reader to be available on desktop computers, iPhones, iPads or Android.

Feedly is my absolute favorite now that Google Reader is leaving the market. Its layout is pleasing to the eye.  It’s pretty simple to set up and navigate.  And I can easily share my Feedly finds on social media.  Another great feature is that I can mark the stories I want to read later and come back to them another time.

But most importantly, it’s an excellent tool for keeping information at my fingertips so that I can easily share it to build trust and credibility with my tribe.

Take Action Now

If you are a former Google Reader, you can export your feeds by visiting Google Takeout (select Google Reader).  Here are further instructions on how to do it.

Otherwise, pick an RSS Reader and subscribe to at least 5 website updates this week.  Set aside time on your calendar to check them once a week and share them further.
