Are you still in the early stages of building your business? Still wearing not only multiple hats but shoes and shirts, too?
All this task switching means you’re constantly learning new skills—like how to build or make tweaks to your website—and you’ve got to learn them as quickly as possible while still maintaining professional quality.
You need help—affordable support!
Here are 4 websites to rock everything you need to master
#1 Udemy
Udemy is one of the most versatile online education websites as they have courses on everything from yoga to building a website from scratch.
All of the courses are on-demand, which means they’re available as soon as you purchase them, and the prices range from FREE to $399.
#2 Grovo
Grovo is a unique online training library for every productivity tool under the sun.
On their homepage, they ask an interesting question: “How strong are your digital skills?”
Then they share a startling statistic: “Odds are you’re losing at least 500 hours each year due to inadequate digital training.”
500 hours!
Add digits to your bottom line by using those 500 hours to create, conduct, and market new programs—not to learn how to master productivity tools.
Stop your cycle of sabotage by taking advantage of Grovo. They’ll show you the full range of functions for the tools you already like as well as the ones you want to try out.
Accessing their library, which boasts trainings for over 100 tools, is just $8.25 a month for a full year. Just want to try it out for a month? It’s $15.95.
# 3 Lynda
Lynda has nearly 3,000 courses in their online library, which cover topics like business, design, marketing, and video creation and editing.
All of Lynda’s instructors are professionals who are carefully vetted. This isn’t true of some of the other platforms mentioned here.
Basic membership gives you access to all the videos is $25 a month or $250 a year.
# 4 Treehouse
Treehouse is more focused on web design and development, so you’ll be able to learn about HTML, CSS, WordPress, and iOS for app development.
It’s an online learning experience (versus a library of information waiting to be consumed).
Treehouse breaks courses down into easy-to-digest chunks with quizzes and mini-challenges.
Its most basic level is $25 a month.
BE HONEST!
How many training courses or programs have you bought, but never used? (I’m guilty of doing this, too, so no judgment there whatsoever!)
It’s common – especially in the online entrepreneurship space – to buy a program that you think is going to take your business to new heights and then let it sit in your Dropbox for months.
Or worse, you go through the modules and decide that you don’t have time to implement the strategies.
But you can’t afford to waste your time and money.
You need to create a healthy balance between how much you learn and how much you implement.
That amazing program you’re considering COULD take your business to the next level if you actually put what you’re going to learn into action.
Make sure you commit to letting your education see the light of day. Set aside time to go through the materials (let’s say one hour a week) and time to implement the strategies (another hour a week).
This little system will allow you to truly benefit from the above-mentioned resources.
Back To You
Which of these platforms are you most excited about trying out? What skills have you found to be the most difficult to learn as you bootstrap your business?
Thanks for this list! I didn’t know of some of these. Always amazed at the resources out there.
YAY! Happy to hear that, Jen!
I’ve bought ZERO programmes that I didn’t use. My financial situation is such that I don’t have that luxury (blessing or curse?!), so I use what I buy, then find the holes in it that I need to plug with something else.
My problem is that it takes me AGES to find something that suits my needs and budget all at once. I’m eyeing those Grovo and Treehouse links with interest thinking they might just be the solution I need!
I do hope you find something that suits your needs and budget, Grace! 🙂

Coursera is also a great learning platform. And also: http://www.creativelive.com
YES to CreativeLive!! And thank you for letting me know about coursera. Haven’t heard of them before. Thank you, Barbara! 🙂
